Explore the wild and rugged coastlines of ancient Lycia incorporating Fethiye, Oludeniz, Kas, Kekova and Kalkan as ports of call. Further south from our base in Bodrum, this region is characterised by the soaring pine covered Taurus mountains, and lush and almost tropical landscapes. Highlights are visiting the extraordinary sunken ancient cities at Simena and Myra.
01
Sail from Gocek to Olu Deniz, world famous for its lagoon, vast white sandy beach, azure waters and fantastic water sports. A short cruise takes you to Gemiler where you’ll watch the sunset behind enchanting Byzantine ruins and anchor for the night.
02
Kas, a small but cosmopolitan harbour town, is full of character, very laid back and the ideal spot to take a stroll off board, shop in the boutiques and atolier, relax with coffee and ice cream, and people watch. History enthusiasts can explore the ancient amphitheatre and visit the remarkable Lycian sarcophagus located in the middle of one of the cobbled side streets in this picturesque seaside town.03
Kekova offers numerous fantastic anchorages as well as the chance to explore the half-submerged sunken ruins of ancient Simena and the charming fishing village of Kalekoy overlooked by its medieval hilltop castle. An unbeatable spot for history lovers, divers and snorkelers alike.04
Roman Myra, now Demre, is the original home of St Nicolas, our beloved Santa Claus. Off board visit the Santa Claus Museum, The museum of Lycian Civilisations and the breathtaking rock hewn tombs here. Swim nearby in bluer than blue waters at Ucagizlar.05
Visit the well-to-do Kalkan for Kaputas beach and some excellent dining experiences accompanied with outstanding sea vistas. Nearby is the awesome 18km long sandy Patara beach, natural sanctuary to giant Loggerhead turtles and without question one of Turkey’s most loved stretches of coast.
06
Fethiye, ancient Telemessos, is known as the Land of Lights for its breathtaking sky and sea scapes. Surrounded with myriad bays for anchorage, swims and lunch, the town itself offers a handful of authentic local restaurants for freshly caught fish & seafood, great walks along the promenade, bikes for hire and explorations of the dramatic Lycian rock tombs that overlook the wide bay.07
